Valentina obtained her degree of M.Sc. in Earth and Space /Atmospheric Science from York University, Toronto, Canada in 1996. She also holds a degree of M.Sc in Electrical Engineering, with major in Electro-optical Instrumentation design from Electro-Technical University, St. Petersburg, Russia. Valentina has many years of experience in optical and opto-mechanical design, modeling, prototyping, and production of complex systems such as laser scanners, laser Doppler vibrometers and velocimeters, spectral imagers of atmospheric emission, LCD projection systems and other. Valentina is Engineering Director at Qioptiq Polymer Optics in La Verne, CA. She has been teaching a series of Optical and Optomechancial classes in Irvine UCI, CACT, ATEP and SPIE full day class “Integration of Optical and Mechanical Design (SC983)”. Valentina has been nominated for her specific achievements in optical instrument design, engineering and education for SPIE Senior member 2010 https://spie.org/x19144.xml . She was featured in 2010 SPIE Women in Optics Yearly Planner http://spie.org/x31321.xml . (Valentina is OSSC Vice President and was Secretary and Treasurer previously).
