OSSC Councilor & Webmaster (2004-2005)

-Robert Chave-

    Robert Chave is an optomechanical designer working on spectrometers and other instrumentation for spaceflight, aircraft, laboratory and field service applications.  Clients include Caltech, Los Alamos National Labs, and JPL.  After 15 years at JPL, where he received 12 NASA awards for new technology, he is independently incorporated as Robert Chave Applied Physics in Altadena, California.  Present tasks include mechanical elements a mass spectrometer funded by the ONR, a Tunable DIode Laser Spectrometer for 2009 Mars Rover launch, and components of a low power methanol fuel cell.  Robert is active with the Optomechanics Working Group of the SPIE.
