Katherine Short St.John began her career in the aerospace and defense market in 1990 at Vernitron/Axsys Technologies in San Diego, CA. Over the next 13 years, the company grew and so did the career opportunities. Katherine progressively moved through the ranks from Customer Service Manger to Applications Marketing Manager for the Aerospace and Defense Group where the blend of motion control, precision machining, and optics came together to create complex sub-systems. Katherine joined BEI Kimco as an Inside Sales and Marketing Manager and transitioned into the Actuators Product Manager. In August 2006, Katherine joined Exotic Electro-Optics in Murrieta, CA, as Business Development Manager. Over the past four years, she has been creating opportunities for infrared and sapphire windows, domes, lenses and opto-mechanical sub-assemblies. Katherine completed three AS Degrees in the early 1980’s, took a break from her formal education to raise a step-daughter, and returned to school in 2009 to complete a BS/Finance degree at University of Phoenix. Katherine is a member of SPIE, and a recent member of OSSC.
