MKS Newport is a leader in photonics and is growing with the development and fabrication of high precision optics and opto-mechanical components. We provide solutions including precision motion control, optical tables and vibration isolation systems, photonic instruments, optical and opto-mechanical components.
In this new role we are looking for a Senior Optical Product Proposal Specialist who will drive activities for a product portfolio of optical assemblies and systems. Other titles include: Project Manager, Project Engineer, Optical Engineer.
You Will:
• Learn and be knowledgeable about optics, optical assemblies and systems and process technology.
• Work closely with the sales team and customer to gain a solid understanding of product requirements and identify latent needs.
o Interface with design engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to generate high-level product plans.
• A large part of this role is generating accurate cost models using a data driven approach, that includes inputs from all stakeholders to ensure decisions are well informed and can be successfully executed.
• Create product plans and customer proposals, cost estimates.
What You Bring to the Team:
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electronics, Optics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or other applicable Engineering degree
2 + years of experience in leading projects and formal or informal leadership of teams:
• Experience in project management, or as an engineering lead, or supply chain engineering
• Experience preparing dashboards, presentations
MS Office Skills:
• Excel: advanced formulas, pivot tables
• PowerPoint: able to create and present to executives
Ability to travel up to 5%
It’s Also Nice If You Have:
Prior experience in an engineering role related to optics or photonics products
Product proposal and cost estimation experience
Demonstrated leadership role in the development of complex optical assemblies/systems
Effective communication skills

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Pay Range: $93,100.00 to 139,900.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
