Solar Power International Conference 2010
Author Last Post
I attended the 2010 Solar Power International conference held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from October 12th through 14th . Some of the exhibiting companies might have employment opportunities for persons with backgrounds in the optical field. This includes those with vacuum deposition and semiconductor experience (solar cells and systems of various types) and optical design expertise (concentrated solar power, both photovoltaic and thermal). Also, many of the businesses present might have a need for mechanical and electrical engineers. The website is still available at:

http://www.solarpowerinternational.com/sepa2010/public/Content.aspx?ID=611&sortMenu=101004&MainMenuID=626

From here, you can use the “Search exhibitors by product category” link to look for companies of interest.

I would suggest looking at the exhibitors just to get an idea of where the solar power industry is today.

One company that didn't have a booth but whose representatives I spoke with was Sun Synchrony. They have a unique design for a concentrating photovoltaic system. Their website is at www.SunSynchrony.com
