The OSSC will hold the final meeting of the 2025 calendar year in November, and this is will be the final Newsletter until 2026.  You are encouraged to share optics related news, publications, and events with your OSSC members and friends including profiles of our Corporate Members. The Leadership Team guides our Society through all of our activities including regular monthly meetings, special events, education & outreach, and much more.  Upcoming Leadership Team meetings are found on OSSC.org.

 

All active members are invited and encouraged to join the Leadership Team.

Mirror Tech Days 2025 was abruptly cancelled due to the government shutdown.  OSSC Vice President Lisa Belodoff opines on the cancellation and includes a Southern California plan to reinvigorate the event.

 

 

The November 2025 meeting of the OSSC will be held at the Pasadena City College (PCC). The dinner is generously sponsored by PCC MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) organization. MESA serves to enrich the experience of all students interested STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) by providing academic support and a variety of community-building opportunities. OSSC Corporate Member Knobbe Martens offers expertise in patent law specific to optical, photonics, and laser technology right in our neighborhood. Mark Gallagher, a lawyer with a PhD in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, has been advising clients in the optics/photonics/lasers space for over 25 years.

 

Students Members receive a meal discount at our regular meetings. If you qualify as a Student Member but do not see the discount, your membership probably needs to be updated.  Please contact Memberships to have your membership changed to Student Member before registering for the next meeting.

 

Student Members are Individual Members who are currently enrolled in school at least part-time and are not working full-time.
