David Cook began working in the industry in 1987, producing large format display holograms. Shortly thereafter he attended Pasadena City College and earned his A.S. in Lasers & Electro-Optics, then went on to the University of La Verne to earn his B.S. in Optical Engineering. David's professional career has concentrated on the manufacture of diffractive optics. Along the way he has worked at Physical Optics Corporation in Torrance, Northrop ESD in Hawthorne, Accuwave Corporation in Santa Monica, and Perkin Elmer in Irvine where he currently designs and produces diffraction gratings for use in spectrometers. “My involvement with the Optical Society is very rewarding, both professionally and personally. I feel privileged to serve on the board and work with the talented leaders that represent the local optics industry.”
