David Hasenauer served as OSSC President in 1997-98. He has been an OSSC member since 1990, and first joined the board as Arrangements Chair in 1994. He has also served as the Program Chair, Secretary, and Newsletter Editor.
Dave was born in Rochester, New York, and graduated with a BS in Optics from the University of Rochester. A life long avocation of amateur astronomy lead to his interest in optics, and his vocation of optical design engineering. After graduation in 1981, Dave moved to Dallas, Texas and worked for Texas Instruments, Inc. as an individual contributor and eventually, as Supervisor of TI's Optical Design Group. In 1990, he joined Optical Research Associates in Pasadena, California. He was a member of ORA's Engineering Services Group until 1999, when he joined ORA's Marketing and Customer Service Group.
