Gaylord Moss, BSEE Tufts University 1957, MSEE USC 1959, worked at Hughes Research Labs from 1957 to 1976 on a variety of projects including masers, laser gravity wave detectors, and holographic optical elements. He holds 39 US patents, which include holographic fabrication technology, head-up and visor displays, and holographic lighting systems. In 1976, he transferred holographic technology to the Hughes Radar Systems Group to develop aircraft and subsequently automotive holographic displays. Currently, with his own company, he is serving as a consultant developing holographic optical elements and display systems.
