OSSC President (1998-1999)

-Peter Nance, Jr.-

    Peter Nance, Jr. has a background in electrical engineering.  He worked for Optical Instruments from 1979-86, then for Perkin-Elmer from 1986-89 as Senior thin film specialist.  He also did research and development in laser and thin film designs.  Mr. Nance formed Precision Applied Products in 1989 to coat optics for Amateur Astronomers.  Complete lens manufacturing capabilities are also provided, with a specialty in flat and spherical optics to 14 inch in diameter for prototype and small quantity production.  Peter has attended OSSC meetings since 1980, when Fred Hansen introduced him to the Society.  He is also involved in junior and high school group projects promoting science for students.
