R. Reddy Chirra graduated in 1965 from University of Rochester with a Master's Degree in Optics. He worked at Bausch & Lomb, de Havilland Aircraft, NCR, Vivitar and at Raytheon Systems Company (Formerly Hughes). Work areas covered Commercial, Consumer, Medical, Photographic and Electronic Imaging. He has held responsible positions both in Industry and social organizations. Originally introduced to OSSC by the late Hank Frels of Hughes, Reddy was Councillor of OSSC ('78-'79, & '80-'81). "I will fulfill my obligation as President willingly and support OSSC in their activities not only in scientific but also in networking and help promote comradery among optics professionals". Reddy retired from Raytheon on January 31, 2000.
