David Sensiper was interested in astronomy as a youngster, and that of course led to an interest in optics.  However, most of his professional career has been spent in electrical engineering and materials science related assignments. After graduating from UC San Diego, he worked at Hughes Aircraft Company in Torrance on traveling-wave tubes and GaAs field-effect transistor circuits.  He then went to Para Tech Coating in Aliso Viejo to develop processes for manufacturing pellicles. His next position was at TRW, where he worked on microwave antennas and related hardware for satellite applications.  A job at Hughes Space and Communications followed, working on the ICO satellite program.  He then spent several years at International Rectifier working with power semiconductors.  A position at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems followed, where he worked on the STSS satellite payload and supplier quality issues.  After this, he continued his earlier efforts to manufacture and market pellicles with Advanced Pellicle Technology, then returned to International Rectifier.  David attended his first OSSC meeting in 2009 and became a member shortly afterwards.
